“Farniente”, the hammock designed by Bestetti Associati for Paola Lenti, has been selected by New York’s Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum for its The Virtue in Vice exhibition, which is running until 25 March

Farniente, the fabric hammock made by Paola Lenti to a design by Bestetti Associati, can be suspended between two trees, two walls or a special structure made from painted stainless steel. And it is right at home in New York’s Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum’s The Virtue in Vice exhibition, a collection of objects made from a combination of luxurious, sophisticated materials and unique craftsmanship which runs until 25 March

The exhibition focuses on the seven deadly sins through “objects that over the course of history have made indulgence in luxury and envy of all things beautiful a pleasure, transforming vice into virtue”.

Farniente is made from Trame, a mesh fabric developed and exclusively produced by Paola Lenti, with a fabric structure that allows the hammock to be stretched and shaped without losing its intrinsic solidity.
